How do you introduce yourself at parties?
Make eye contact, approach and introduce myself then establish a mutual interest.
Do you think that mathematicians deserve the “geek” tag?
Yes and no. When you’re a teenager and at primary school, it is a bit of a geek’ish thing but when you get older, you kind of take pride in knowing that you’re good at math. Everyone likes a smart person, I hope!

How do you use maths in your work?
As a business owner, I use alot of maths when calculating budgets and all sorts of stuff like quantity of stock and what not.
Also, as a 3rd year engineering student I use maths A LOT. I think the word ‘engineering’ is self explanatory in regards to how much maths is used in it.
What has maths done for you lately?
Ability to pocket some extra money! I tutor two students a week. Awesome for paying my car and gym expenses.

Do you have a favourite application or theory of maths? And if you do, why is it so?
There are way too many to pick and choose. I think my favourite topics are quadratic expressions and I just like algebra in general.[subscribe2]
