Spider web

Web forms many different angles

I took a picture of a spider web because I think it relates a lot to geometry.
This spider web has lots of lines and points. The spider needs to work out all of the exact positions for the points and lines so that the web will work like it’s supposed to. If you just hung a few lines it wouldn’t catch any bugs so the spider has to use math to work out all the places for the lines and points (which is geometry). It also needs to work out solids to start its web on and also needs to check the surface of the solid to see if the web will stick.
